Intermountain West Working AKC Show – Day 1

Posted by on September 12, 2013

Today was the first day of the Intermountain West Working Group AKC dog show up in Farmington, UT.  I entered Cedar and Axel in this show.  They are both 9 months old, so I don’t expect them to go very far in it, it’s also their very first shows, so they are still learning!  Even though they are young and it was their first day of a real show, I think they both did really well!  There was definitely some room for improvement and things we need to work on, but despite that, they did great.  Axel won his class, and was able to move onto winners with the adult dogs.  He didn’t place in winners, but I don’t expect him to when he has to compete with adult dogs that have actually grown into their bodies (his back legs are so much longer than his front legs right now, he just looks like a dork).  Cedar got second female in her class, which was great!  I think she could have done better, but I made a few mistakes that I will not make again tomorrow!  I am excited to see how things go tomorrow with a new judge and a new day.  I will write again tomorrow about the results and the day.  Below are a few pictures from today’s show.
