Health Clearances and Puppy News

Posted by on September 9, 2013

I know it has been since June since I last wrote, things have been a little crazy busy here!  Since I last wrote our Litter C went to their new families, and everyone is doing great!  They are all growing like a weed and doing great with their puppy training and obedience training.  All of their new owners just rave about how great their puppy is, which we love to hear!

In August we did Pennhip and Prelim OFA elbows on Cedar, Kyra, Axel and Luna.  We have lots of great news for them!  Luna came back in the 80th Pennhip percentile and NORMAL Prelim OFA Elbows.  Kyra Came back with Preliminary OFA GOOD hips and NORMAL elbows.  Axel came back in the 60th Pennhip percentile, and prelim OFA NORMAL elbows.  Cedar is the best news of all, she came back with >90th Pennhip percentile, Prelim OFA EXCELLENT hips, and prelim OFA NORMAL elbows!!  We are so excited about all the great news about each of them, but Cedar’s scores are the best news of all!  You can see their actual clearances on each dog’s page.

We also have a couple of upcoming litters this winter.  Luna will be having her first litter, and will be bred any day now (whenever she decides to go into heat).  We found an amazing sire for her in Montana, his registration name is Bearpaw’s Briggs and Stratton.  He is a lovely boy, who has very long lived berners in his line (both of his parents lived to be 11!  And his grandparents all lived to close to 10!) and loads of amazing health clearances in his line!  We are considering keeping a puppy from this breeding…we will see how it turns out.  Ella will also be bred in November.  We are still a little unsure about which sire we will be using with her.  We are hoping to use a very very nice boy in Washington, but we will see how things pan out.  Keep checking back for updates on these two awesome litters.  We are very excited for both of them!
